Booking Terms

When making a booking please state the number of adults, children and infants (under 3 years and sleeping in a cot) and if cot/high chair are required.

The number of persons occupying a property must not exceed the maximum occupancy level stated for each property plus an infant, as defined above, if sleeping in a cot

On submission of an online booking you will receive an automatically generated booking summary to the email address provided in the booking form. A booking will only be considered definite when subsequently confirmed by email/letter by Blarghour Farm Cottages on receipt of deposit (30% of the rental).

Bookings made without a deposit are considered provisional and will only be held for 3 days pending receipt of the deposit.

The balance of the rental is payable 6 weeks before arrival.

Payments made by Mastercard will incur a charge of 3%.

Children are very welcome to all our cottages though due to the open spiral staircase Stable is not recommended for children under 5 year of age.

If for any reason the accommodation is not available to you on the dates booked due to events beyond our control, we shall take steps to find similar or alternative accommodation.  If suitable accommodation is not available, then all sums paid will be refunded and we shall have no further liability to you or any other party.

Insurance and Cancellation

A confirmed reservation constitutes a binding contract between proprietor and guest.  In the event of a cancellation, guests remain liable for the full cost of the holiday.

We will make every effort to try to re-let the accommodation on behalf of a guest.

The deposit will be non-returnable as there is added expense in re-letting a property.

We strongly recommend that guests take out insurance against cancellation. Such insurance is available from Schofields Uk Holiday Insurance and a link/form is also included with the booking confirmation.  Guests travelling from abroad should arrange insurance in their home country

General Information

Linen & Towels – beds will be made for your arrival and towels supplied: one bath towel per person, one hand towel per bath/shower room and in the kitchen two tea towels plus one hand towel.

Babies/infants – please say if cot or high chair are needed when booking

Pets – Sorry we do not accept pets

Smoking – smoking is not permitted in any of our holiday cottages

Wi-Fi – we offer free, reasonable use, internet access via satellite with a strict monthly allowance so it is probably best to bring information you need from the cloud ‘back to earth’ and download iplayer programmes, UTube, films etc either before you arrive or between 10pm – 6am when uploads/downloads do not take from the data allowance.

Gas & Electricity – these are metered and charged ‘at cost’, as an extra, at the end of your stay. We feel that this is fairer than an ‘all-in rental’ figure as there can be a big variation in usage week to week.

Cleaning – you are asked to take care of your holiday cottage and should leave it as you found it, in a clean and tidy condition.  Breakages or damage should be reported immediately and where appropriate you will be liable to pay replacement/repair costs or any extra cleaning costs.

Fire – guests should acquaint themselves on arrival with all fire prevention and emergency procedures for minimising the fire risk throughout their stay as required by the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005

Safety – you may explore gardens and the farm safely, at your own risk.

Vehicles and personal property – Vehicles and personal property are your responsibility and are left at your own risk.
